Dr. Patrick T. Mangonon

Dr. Patrick Mangonon is an accomplished, board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in performing advanced heart and lung (Cardiothoracic) operations. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also completed his general surgery residency at Univ. of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Mangonon went on to finish fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the renowned Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.


With over 25 years of surgical experience, Dr. Mangonon provides expert surigcal care for adult patients with a wide range of heart and lung disease. He is the most experienced surgeon in Volusia County offering robot-assisted cardiothoracic procedures using the da Vinci® DV5 system. His areas of expertise include:


  • MINI INCISION Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery

When he’s not in the operating room, Dr. Mangonon enjoys spending time with wife, Imelda. He met Mrs. Mangonon at the University of Miami when she was a nurse and he was a medical student.  They married in 1992 and have been a happy and loving couple ever since. They are so proud of their 2 grown daughters, Pamela and Sophia. Dr. and Mrs. Mangonon enjoy traveling (especially to visit their extended family who live all throughout the USA), sampling new cuisines, playing mahjong, and regularly connecting with their active friendsgroup. Dr. Mangonon is an avid sports fan and intensely follows the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Miami Heat. However, he does root for ALL FLORIDA TEAMS in the 4 major professional sports  (provided they are not playing against his favorite teams!). Even though he went to school at the University of Miami, he cheers for UF (Sophia '20) and UCF (Pamela '18) and FSU (brother and his wife). What if you hate Dr Mangonon's favorite teams? No worries, he will still treat you like ‘family’ and provide you with exceptional care!
